Soft skills matter, a LOT! According to Google, in the article. “The surprising thing Google learned about its employees — and what it means for today’s students”, soft skills are the most important skills.
Why Soft Skills Matter
According to the article, “The seven top characteristics of success at Google are all soft skills: being a good coach; communicating and listening well; possessing insights into others (including others different values and points of view); having empathy toward and being supportive of one’s colleagues; being a good critical thinker and problem solver; and being able to make connections across complex ideas.”
We hear an awful lot about STEM these days, but not nearly enough about the importance of soft skills. When you think about the types of traits you admire in a co-worker, employee, employer or the person who’s waiting on you, good soft skills make all the difference in the world.
