I am honored that one of my heroes, Temple Grandin, is excited about my book Smile & Succeed for Teens: Must-Know People Skills for Today’s Wired World and how it will help all teens succeed. Temple provided her testimonial for the book and I am excited to get the book into the hands of teens, including those with autism, to give them the confidence, social skills, and job skills to succeed. Temple Grandin is the author of Thinking in Pictures, The Autistic Brain, and many other books.
Smile & Succeed for Teens is great for adults too. (The book reviewer at The Detroit News told me, “I learned a LOT from this book!”)
The unemployment rate for people with autism is close to 90%. Smile & Succeed for Teens will help bring this percentage down. Often the important social skills and job skills are not taught in school or at home. Smile & Succeed for Teens, being a crash course, provides a quick, easy and fun to read solution.
Smile & Succeed for Teens is the winner of the following awards:
–Mom’s Choice Gold Award honoring excellence in family friendly products
–Learning Magazine’s Teachers’ Choice Award for the Classroom
-IPPY Gold Award recognizing excellence
One of my favorite movies is Temple Grandin. If you have not seen this award-winning film, you must. It’s inspiring and educational. Be sure to watch the behind the scenes section where Temple Grandin narrates the entire movie and explains more about autism and the importance of each shot. See the short movie trailer below.
Temple Grandin’s book Animals Make Us Human: Creating the Best Life for Animals is one I treasure and feel that everyone should read to better understand animals. You can find more of Temple Grandin’s books here.
