I love this blog post from Seth Godin on customer service: The only purpose of ‘customer service’…
Seth Godin says, “The best measurement of customer support is whether, after the interaction, the customer would recommend you to a friend.” These words are like gold. It’s the type of excellent advice we should all be using as a benchmark for our customer service. Read the entire blog post here.
When I owned a specialty retail store my goal was to delight every customer. I wanted to make certain customers came back and told all their friends. This, of course, led to a massive increase in sales. I could not afford to lose a single customer due to poor customer service. And you can’t either.
I hope every business takes the advice of Seth Godin and makes delighting every customer their goal.
What are you doing in your business to make amazing customer service happen?
