Tying in with the Environment section in the book and to connect kids with nature, we have created a website at www.GetOutLandish.org for teens and schools. This is a fun way for teens (and adults!) to design neighborhoods, using M&Ms as house lots, that preserve natural resources, wildlife and clean water, while being more profitable for developers. These creative neighborhoods, often called "conservation subdivisions", provide privacy, great views, and recreational trails for homeowners to keep people healthy all year round and to connect kids with nature.
Please feel free to share this website with teens, teachers and schools you know. It’s a better way for every beautiful place in America slated for development.
