Communication Skills for Teens

Good Communication Skills for Teens are Critical

Communication skills for teens are one of the most important skills businesses look at when hiring. The following excerpt is from my book, Smile & Succeed for Teens: Must-Know People Skills for Today's Wired World. The powerful communication skills in the book help teens succeed on the job.

CALL PEOPLE BY NAME
One of the best ways to make a great impression on a person is to remember his or her name and use it. People love hearing their name!

HERE’S HOW
1. Smile.
2. Look them in the eye.
3. Enthusiastically say, “Hello, _____________ .”

Don’t assume it’s all right to call adults by their first name unless they are close friends or family members who have given you permission to do so. To address adults, use Mr., Mrs. (married woman), Ms. (when you are not sure if a woman is married or not), Professor, or Dr., along with their last name.

From greeting friends and customers properly, listening, and asking for the sale, effective communication skills for teens are in the book Smile & Succeed for Teens.
